Tina Callcut adapted and produced the Society’s first ever pantomime. Based on the story of Dick Whittington, Dick travels to London in order to assist in raising money for the new Newdigate cricket pavilion and scout hut. All five performances were sold out and the audience followed Jack’s adventures in London and overseas.

AFTER SHOW FUN AT THE SIX BELLS
POSTSCRIPT
There was an unexpected turn of events immediately after the matinee performance.
Robin Gardner (Alderman Smith) stood up and said “there is a lady who said that she would marry a man who got down on his knees in front of a crowd of a hundred people and gave her a diamond ring”. Robin duly got on his hands and knees and proposed to an absolutely shocked Nina Ziegler (Queen Rat). Everyone thought that it was part of the show and Nina for a second was speechless before she said in a loud voice – “I will” to the multiple applause of the audience and cast.
THE HAPPY DAY – 6th JULY 2014 (which of course was pantomime themed…. oh yes it was!)
