On the 23rd and 30th November NEWTS 2018 staged their first Pop-Up Theatre – a set of three Pint-Sized Plays – at the Six Bells and the Surrey Oaks in Newdigate . The Bells laid on a special menu for diners and the Oaks organised an evening which included carols. This was repeated on the 11th January 2019 at the Six Bells and on the 12th January the cast went on tour to the Plough in Leigh. News must have spread because the last two performances played to capacity audiences. Before Gift Aid, £81.25 was raised for Help for Heroes and £248.75 for the Royal British Legion. We moved onto the Frog & Nightgown in Wimlands on the 16th March and back to the Seven Stars on the 6th April. An attempt to perform at the Beer Festival at the Surrey Oaks just didn’t work as there were just too many people making rather a lot of noise! The cast performed three short sketches……
